Goals:

-Plan meals for the week and pre-cook 1-2 weekday meals on the weekend
-Track food, at a minimum log 'treats'- Eat 80-90% Primal
-Eat 5-10 veggies and fruits per day
-Lift heavy things 2 times per week
-Sprint once per week (can be tabata)
-Move slowly 2-3 times per week

What is this all about?

Well, for over 4 years I struggled! I really, truly struggled to lose weight. I was on a mandatory program for weight loss and fitness. I went to monthly classes with an exercise physiologist and dietician. I kept a food journal, I exercised for hours every week. In 3.5 years on one specific part of this program I lost 10 pounds and was still weighing in at 196 pounds. It was too much, I was hurting myself in my strive to lose weight, to keep my career and to be able to provide for my family. There were times I was exercising eight times a week, twice a day four times a week.

Then my father introduced me to a thing called "The Paleo Diet". I thought he was nuts, I can't give up grains (all bread, corn, rice, etc.), I can't give up potatoes and I can't give up beans. He was eating this way, and a month later he had lost 27 pounds and seven inches from his waist. What?!?!?! I figured I might as well try it, maybe it will help me. He was right, it did. In three months I lost 30 pounds and 10 inches, by the end of the year I had lost about 35 pounds. In February 2010 I passed my fitness test for the first time in over 4 years.

If you are a person that tries everything and nothing seems to work, this way of eating might be for you. Have a lot of abdominal fat? Yup, you will probably benefit too. If you are human, you will probably do well on this way of eating too. Need to bulk up? Yes sir, it is your friend!
