Let me tell you it is NOT okay to tell a pregnant woman that she is going to be HUGE in 12 more weeks. Even if it is the truth. Now, with that said, there is a good chance I will be huge in 12 weeks I am always huge at the end of pregnancy. I have just about no torso, I think I have about 2 inches between the bottom of my rib cage and the top of my pelvic bones. Yeah, there is no where for baby to go but out until it drops into the pelvis, which probably won't happen until right before delivery. On the other hand, I am still so LOW on my weight gain. I am pretty excited about that.
Some thoughts I had today about my weight gain, exercise routine and the way that I eat. I know without a doubt my weight gain is low because of my lifestyle, mostly my way of eating. In previous pregnancies, even with more weight gain I bascially was at my pre-pregnancy weight soon after delivery, even with two I was LESS after the baby was born than I was before. So, I am very interested to see what my weight is this time after I deliver. One, my weight gain is less and two, I eat so much better!
Then there is exercise. I have exercised through all my pregnancies where I was in the military. This is the first time I have actually made an effort to maintain muscle. Now, I am NOT lifting super heavy but I am still lifting some and doing push-ups an stuff. I workout enough to be sore, but not to be painful the few days after. My goal is NOT to build muscle right now, just to maintain my current lean mass.
So, if my weight is less after baby, and I am able to maintain my lean mass, will that result in a lower body fat percentage? It would totally be cool if it did! And I am really excited to find out how my new lifestyle will change the end results of pregnancy. So 10-12 weeks until delivery and I figure I will take 'stock' of everything at six weeks post-partum :-D
